Chapter 8--"What Happened after Dinner"

In chapter eight, the Pevinses have dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Beaver. They learn about Aslan, the White Witch, and the prophecy of four Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve ruling at Cair Paravel. At one point in the dinner, they notice that Edmund is gone, and his brother and sisters are worried and want to start looking for him.

But Mr. Beaver says, "There's no point in going to look for him." Why does Mr. Beaver say that? Do you agree or disagree? Why/why not? What would you have done if you were Edmund's brother/sister? Why?

Please write your response with at least 2 compound and 2 complex sentences.

  2. He says that because if they look for him, they will get to the White Witch, and the White Witch only wants all of them to come together to kill them all, that way she won't have to worry about the prophecy. I do agree with Mr. Breaver because he also said that while Edmund is with the White Witch she will not kill him unless all of them are with the White Witch. If I was Edmund's sister, I would go with the breaver's idea because I don't know how Narina works and because I haven't been here for long, I don't know what happens to people in Narina.

  3. After dinner, all of them were wanting to look for Edmund and Mrs.Beaver said they could go, but it would be hard. They had to be really careful because the white witch would make them into to stone, and she would catch all the 2 son and 2 daughter Adam and Eve. She said that she wanted to get them because she didn't want them to be in thrones. Mrs. Beaver said that they shouldn't go and look for them because they would turn them into stone, and they would turn into a statue. Although the kids wanted to they would have been turn into to stone because it would be hard to get in. If I was Edmund brother or sister then I would have been keeping a Eye on him since he had already been to Narnia.

  4. Mr. Beaver says that because he knows that if they go look for him they are not gonna catch him up, and the White Witch is gonna catch them. I agree with Mr. Beaver if they go meet Aslan then they have a larger chance of getting Mr. Tumnus and Edmund. If, I was Edmunds sister I would of listened to Mr. and Mrs. Beaver. Since Mr. and Mrs. Beaver know all about Narnia I would of gone with there Idea because, I wouldn't remember Narnia and they have lived there a long time.

  6. Mr. Beaver says "There's no point in going to look for him." because he knows where Edmund is going to the White Witch's house, so that he cant tell the White Witch that Aslan can't be turned into stone and where they are going to met Aslan. I agree because they were saying that Aslan was near, and going to defeat the White witch. If I was Edmund's brother, I would go and talk to Aslan to help Mr. Tumnus and the rest of the people that were turned into stone. I will also have an end to the White Witch.

  7. After dinner, they can't find Edmund in the house anywhere. Mr. Beaver says "There's no point in looking for him", and I agree because if they look for him in the White Witch's house, she might kill them all and everything will be ruined. I would have not gone to look for him, sure it would be my responsibility but it's his fault. First thing I would have done is go to the "Stone Table" and talk to Aslan about it. That would have helped. (:

  8. Narnia

I do agree that there is no point in looking for Edmund, because if they all do, the White Witch will catch the, and turn them into statues. If I were Edmund's sister I would have gone with the beaver's plan instead of being turned to stone, even if I want to find Edmund. When Mr. Beaver told them the plan, Peter really didn't want to follow through, he just wanted to get Edmund and get out of Narnia.

  9. Mrs. Beaver said that they shouldn't go and look for them because they would turn them into stone, and they would turn into a statue. Although the kids wanted to they would have been turn into to stone because it would be hard to get in. If Mr. and Mrs. Beaver didn't tell the four children about the White Witch they would turn into stone statues. If I were Edmund's sister I would have been sobbing and sobbing until I saw that he was safe and also I would be mad because Edmund betrayed us and went with the White Witch.

  10. I agree with Mr. Beaver because the Witch could catch all of them, and then they will turn into stones. There is no point in getting edmund because they are putting their risks, while aslan cold get edmund free from the White Whitch. If i was edmnd's brother, I would go see aslan to tell him if he could help us. While they were looking for edmund, peter wanted to get edmund and leave narnia.

  11. Mr. Beaver says There's no point in going to look for him because he knows that Edmund is with the White Witch. I agree with Mr. Beaver because if he know what the White Witch would do then I would follow him, or do what he is saying. If I were Edmund sister, I would tell Mr. Beaver what could we do to help save Mr. Tumnus, and Edmund. After Mr. Beaver told me what to do I would do that for example, if he told me that I had to go talk to Aslan, the King the loard I would be scared but I would go to try to save Edmund. I would do that to save my brother because even if he is doing somthing wrong and he dosn't know I would help him to teach him a lesson.

  12. Mr. Beaver say that "There's no point in going to look for him", because he has gone to her, to the White Witch, and that he has betrayed them all. If I was Edmund's sister I would probably go talk to Aslan first because I wouldn't want to get captured by the White Witch, and get turned into stone. If Mr. Beaver told me to go talk to Aslan first, I would listen. Because I would want to save my brother.

  13. When Mr.Beaver say there's no point of search for Edmund, he means that he already met the white witch. I disagree because if he were my brother, I would do anything for him to do the right thing. Although, I disagree, I do think Mr.Beaver has a point because you should never talk to strangers or take any thing they give you. If I were Edmund sister I would be really mad at him and I will go look for him because he is my responsibility

  14. When Mr. Beaver says to not go, I agreed because the white witch has them, and they have him as bait, so they could go looking for him. Also she wants them to go, so the prophesy could be made and turn them into stone. Since Edmund left, he's caused so much trouble. Before they were talking about the two sons and daughters of Eve and Adam to make the prophesy in the four thrones
